OKKARI KOSAM ANDARU NILACHI - A Position Statement on Team Square by Dr. Chowdary Jampala

TEAM²-TANA Emergency Assistance Management Team

The technology boom has created a great opportunity for the highly educated Indian community across the world. The Indian population in North America has grown many fold within the last decade. The Telugu community, in particular, has surged to its highest levels ever in the United States and Canada. As most of us are professionals, such as doctors and engineers, we have earned, as a community, a unique recognition and have become an integral part of both countries.

While we enjoy many social and cultural gatherings, we also regularly see many catastrophic incidents like homicides, suicides, accidents and domestic violence that affect our treasured Telugu community. Although, there is a great public mechanism in North America to handle such drastic events, TANA, as the largest Telugu association in the world, has an obligation to respond to help and protect our fellow Telugu people.

As TANA evolved from a literary, cultural-oriented organization, TANA Governing Board sees a mounting need to create a helping arm for our community. TANA has, indeed, many generous and service-oriented members across North America who can help create an accessible, supportive service-oriented organization. By utilizing such membership resources, TANA TEAM2 is created to help Indians particularly Telugu people residing or visiting North America.

TANA requests that all of its members and the Telugu community across the world to support TEAM2‘s efforts by contributing and/or volunteering.  If you would like to be part of the team and volunteer, please contact TANA Secretary, Mohan Nannapaneni at (508) 612 6676 or email : secretary@tana.org.

TANA thanks you for all your past and continuing support. If you or someone you know has recently suffered a tragedy and need help, please contact your local TANA representative or volunteer.
